Our Beliefs are derived from the Bible. The following are the basics of what we believe. Please let us know if you have any questions or would like information on anything not addressed in this brief outline.
We believe the Bible is the inspired error free word of God and that we can rely on the Scriptures to guide us in faith and daily living. We believe that God’s word can be understood by everyone. That said, some of the Scriptures require careful study so that if the interpretation of a particular passage is confusing or raises questions, then we look to the rest of Scripture for context. In other words; Scripture interprets Scripture.
We believe that there is one God; the sovereign self-existing creator and sustainer of all things; infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. Through his perfect life and death on the cross, he took the penalty of our sins (God’s wrath) upon himself so that our guilt could be in a real sense taken away. He rose from the dead on the third day having completed his work of redemption. There is no other mediator between God and man except Christ alone. Our faith must be in Christ alone for our own personal redemption from sin and reconciliation with God our creator.
We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells God’s people and gives us the strength and wisdom to trust Christ and follow Him. The Holy Spirit applies the saving work of the Son to our lives.
We believe that we are saved by the grace of God alone through faith in Jesus Christ. We cannot earn our way to heaven. Our good works cannot erase the guilt of our sin so we rely solely on the grace of God for our salvation. Once saved through faith in Christ, our good works do not save us, but rather demonstrate renewed and repentant hearts.
We believe that the Church is the body of Christ made up of all those who have put their faith in the Son. The church is not a creation of man but of God himself with Christ as the head. God created man for relationship with Him and with each other. The church is called to be a community of believers who worship God, love each other, and communicate the gospel to the ends of the earth.
We believe that Jesus will return, bodily and visibly, at the end of the age to judge all mankind and to receive His people to Himself.
